Course Character & Design
P.B. Dye drew heavily on PGA West Stadium Course as his template for Moorland, drastic elevation changes, massive bulkhead walls, enormous multi-tiered greens (among the largest in South Carolina), forced carries, and waste areas that punish anything but commitment. It is the most difficult of Legends' three on-property courses, and it earns its Golf Digest 'Top 50 Toughest Courses in America' ranking honestly.

Signature Holes
The par-4 16th, known as 'Hell's Half-Acre,' measures 245 to 270 yards depending on the tee, drivable, but guarded by a massive sand bunker that makes the aggressive line genuinely risky. The par-5 15th splits the fairway with a creek 160 yards from the pin, and the finishing par-4 18th wraps around a lake to complete one of the Grand Strand's most demanding closing stretches.

Course Conditions
Recent updates to TifEagle Bermuda greens have brought Moorland's putting surfaces in line with the best-conditioned courses on the Strand. The multi-tiered greens are the course's most demanding feature, fast, large, and positioned to make three-putts a real risk even after a well-struck approach.

Before You Play
Moorland plays harder than almost anything else in Myrtle Beach, step down a tee unless you're a single-digit handicap and want a genuine test. The shared resort amenities (30-acre lighted driving range, full clubhouse, Ailsa Pub) make Legends a great base for a multi-round trip combining Moorland, Heathland, and Parkland in one stay. Package rates with on-site lodging offer strong value for the quality of golf.
