Raymond Floyd's 27-hole ICW masterpiece — water on 24 holes.

Named South Carolina Golf Course of the Year in 1998 and voted Best of the Grand Strand in 2012, Arrowhead has built a reputation for conditioning that rivals courses charging twice the green fee. The MiniVerde Bermuda greens — the same putting surface used at TPC Sawgrass and East Lake — roll fast and true year-round, an upgrade that has become one of the course's most cited strengths.

Located five minutes from Myrtle Beach International Airport, Arrowhead is ideally situated for golfers who want to start or finish a trip with a course that rewards both ball-strikers and short-game specialists. The par-4 fifth on the Waterway nine — played entirely alongside the Intracoastal from tee to green — is the signature hole, and it earns the distinction every time.

Caddie's Notes

4 things worth knowing before your round — from tee selection to where to eat when you're done.

01
Course Character & Design
South Carolina's first Raymond Floyd Signature course pairs Floyd's design instincts with Tom Jackson's co-design on a 27-hole layout where each nine has its own distinct personality: Waterway runs along the Intracoastal, Cypress winds through Carolina hardwood wetlands with a memorable three-hole closing stretch, and Lakes brings strategic water hazards front and center. Fairway mounding is a defining visual characteristic throughout all three nines.
02
Signature Holes
The Cypress nine's closing three holes are Arrowhead's most memorable stretch, playing through the hardwood wetland with the natural Carolina landscape framing every shot. Water comes into play on 24 of 27 holes, but the Waterway nine's Intracoastal-adjacent holes offer the most dramatic scenery, putting boats and coastal views within eyeline for an entire outward stretch.
03
Course Conditions
MiniVerde Bermuda greens, converted from bentgrass in September 2009, the same grass used at TPC Sawgrass and East Lake CC, roll fast and true year-round without the dormancy issues bentgrass can present in Myrtle Beach summers. Free complimentary range balls are included with every round, an unusual perk at this price point.
04
Before You Play
At $123, Arrowhead offers some of the best value for a Signature-design 27-hole course in central Myrtle Beach, and the all-day staggered tee times and Kids Play Free program (16 and under with paying adult) make this a standout family option. Complimentary range balls are included, so arrive early and use them. Seasonal free 9-hole replay offers are available, check the website, as this makes Arrowhead one of the rare courses where you can extend your day without doubling your spend. If you're deciding between the three nine combinations, start with Lakes/Waterway for the best mix of scenery and strategic challenge.
