Named National Golf Course of the Year by the National Golf Course Owners Association in 2009 and a consistent Golf Digest Top 100 Public selection, the Resort Club has consistently outperformed its resort-course label. The layout rewards strategic thinking over raw distance, with water and the ICW serving as ever-present hazards that turn routine approach shots into decisions worth considering twice.
Guests staying within the Grande Dunes community access a full suite of amenities, from a private ocean beach club to world-class tennis and dining — but the Resort Club remains the anchor experience. For visitors to Myrtle Beach who want spectacular conditions, elevated terrain, and a course with genuine national recognition, this is the tee time to book first.

4 things worth knowing before your round — from tee selection to where to eat when you're done.
01
Course Character & Design
Roger Rulewich channeled a resort-grand sensibility at Grande Dunes, weaving seven holes directly along the Intracoastal Waterway to create one of the most scenic stretches of golf in South Carolina. A major 2022 renovation by John Harvey restored the original green specifications and rebuilt bunkers, tightening the course back to its award-winning form. The Mediterranean-style clubhouse overlooking the 9th and 18th greens sets the tone, this is Myrtle Beach golf at its most polished.
02
Signature Holes
The par-3 14th is the course's defining moment: an elevated tee drops roughly 65 feet to a waterfront green, with the Intracoastal shimmering behind it on a clear day. The greens throughout average 10,000 square feet with eight rotating pin placements, meaning the 14th plays differently every visit depending on where the flag sits on the tiered surface.
03
Course Conditions
Champion Bermuda greens are kept in immaculate shape year-round and roll consistently fast, a reflection of Grande Dunes' position as one of Myrtle Beach's flagship properties. The 2022 renovation brought all greens and bunkers back to original spec, so the course is playing as well now as at any point since it opened.
04
Before You Play
With greens averaging 10,000 square feet and multiple pin positions, club selection on approach shots matters more than distance, work on reading the tiers before committing. The Grande Dunes Golf Performance Center, directed by Dale Ketola, is on-site for instruction. After your round, the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes, a four-diamond resort, and Terrazza 19 Patio & Bar with Intracoastal views are both on the property.
